Refractions joins Google's Summer of Code

Refractions Research has joined the Google “Summer of Code” initiative as a mentoring organization. The “Summer of Code” is a program that offers student developers stipends to create new open source programs or to help currently established projects. Google works with a variety of open source, free software, and technology-related groups to identify and fund several hundred projects over a three-month period.

As members of a mentoring organization, Refractions' staff will provide guidance to students completing projects to enhance PostGIS and uDig.

Refractions is compiling more information about our participation in the Summer of Code, including ideas for student projects, at our own Summer of Code page: http://www.refractions.net/soc2006.
